Be Not Afraid of Bees
Just read a lovely post on why we should not be afraid of bees. I perked up when the author mentioned clients who asked for lots of flowers, but none that attract stinging insects -- I hear this often. You want bees and as many different kinds of insects as possible. The insects are a sign that you have a healthy garden and that it is doing much good for the world. And where there are bees and wasps and flies and beetles and moths and etc there are butterflies. Pollinating insects are responsible for 70% of the food we eat, and insects in general are the diet for 100% of baby song birds.
